Description

In the 1950’s, 1960’s and early 1970’s plastic swizzle stir sticks were popular. Nowadays all you get is a straw if you are lucky. Patrons were encouraged to take the swizzles as a way for them to spread the word and advertise the venue. As time goes by these relics will continue to grow in value.
The paddle pick from the
Cleveland Athletic Club
which opened in 1908 is now defunct and the building has converted to luxury apartments.
The
New York Athletic Club
located across from Central Park opened in 1868 and membership is "by invitation only"
The
Boston Madison Square Garden Club
swizzle is oop.
The
Newport Jai Alai
swizzle from Rhode Island opened in 1976 but it is now a Casino
There are
Big Ten
swizzles from
Iowa and Indiana Athletic Clubs
and one from
Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
There is a swizzle from the
Astrodome
dubbed the "8th Wonder of the World" when it opened in 1964. It was the first to use artificial turf thus the term "Astroturf." All of us will remember the pictures after Hurricane Katrina when it was used as a shelter. It has been unused since, and a part of it has been demolished, but the city is still trying to decide what to do with what's left.
The set also includes a
baseball bats, hockey stick and 3 bonus
football picks
At less than a per swizzle these are a great buy. This is my LAST SET of sports swizzles, don’t miss this opportunity.
