Bakelite, also known as Catalin, pair of carnelian red football shaped buttons. Unmarked. Measure just under 1.5 inches long and .375 of an inch wide. Likely date to the 1930s. Overall condition is excellent for this type of vintage buttons with minimal signs of wear. Note: the color appears brighter red in the photos than to the naked eye. The true color is a darker red.
