LIMOGES

Description

I am presenting to you the following items:
5.  A plate, depicting Notre Dame, Paris, France.  This one piece has a crack that has been skillfully restored.
6.  Another plate depicts an evening scene of
parishioners
leaving church on a snowy winter's day.
All pieces have been decorated with 18 carat yellow gold, which has not been worn in any spots, and used in a skillfully decorated way.
The two plates have their own original stands.
These six items are Limoges porcelain.  Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain produced by factories in and around the city of Limoges, France beginning in the late  18th century,
but
does not refer to a particular manufacturer.  By about 1830 Limoges, which was close to the areas where suitable clay was found, had replaced Paris as the main centre for private porcelain, although the state-owned Sevres porcelain near Paris remained dominate at the very top of the market.
LIMOGES HAS MAINTAIN THIS POSITION TO THE PRESENT DAY.
After the French Revolution a number of private factories were established at Limoges, including Haviland & Co., Royal Limoges and several others.
Owning a piece of history?
These six items would be a very valuable entry into the world of miniature collecting.  There are numerous organizations that support the collecting of porcelain miniatures; additionally, there a a great number of Limoges collection groups internationally.
Despite the fact that the latest of the pieces, plate of Notre Dame, has a minor default, your collections will be more than an entry level into the world of Limoges and miniatures.
The crystal glass is not for sale (NFS), it is merely used to indicate size.  My research revealed that the items vary in price from .99 to 27.50, based on amounts of gold and size.
The items will be skillfully packaged.  I have not had any breakage since opening the shop. Postage will be paid by the Buyer.
