    Description

    Vintage 1970s USPS letter carrier zip front jacket with zip out quilted lining. I believe the outer jacket is wool and the quilted zip out lining is most likely a nylon. Flying eagle patch. 3 service star patches on each cuff.  Talon metal zipper. Pants not included. Note- It is possible that this jacket is older than the 1970s and that perhaps the flying eagle patch replaced the earlier horse rider patch that predated it. Brookweave/ Brookfield uniforms label. From the estate of a man who was a mail carrier for 50 years. Check back with my listings as I add the last of the remaining USPS uniform items from his estate.
    --Measurements-- I would estimate it to fit like a size S/ M in today's sizing, but please refer to the measurements. For reference, shown photographed on a mannequin with chest 37/waist 30 and it fit well. Compare with your own measurements and allow room for clothing underneath.  Measurements taken while flat and doubled when applicable.

    --Condition--
    Listed As Is due to wear/ holes/ discoloration/ fraying. See pics. The left shoulder / side shows even more wear as this most likely is the side he carried his mail bag on. This jacket has been around the block- pun intended :)   I have hand washed and air dried the jacket and machine washed / tumble dried the quilted lining, so it is clean and wearable. Despite the condition issues, there is still wear left in this jacket.
